UofL’s Quest to Become Kentucky’s Premier Metropolitan Research
University"
Dr. James Ramsey will
discuss how the University of Louisville is dedicated to meeting the
challenges ahead and becoming the premier metropolitan research
university, that it is destined to be. To achieve this goal, UofL has
initiated a bold campaign to raise an unprecedented $750 million in
private support by 2013. While the University has already made
significant progress toward this goal, there is still much to be
accomplished.

H1N1 in 2009"
What lessons can be
learned from the public H1N1 health scare in 2009? Dean of the School of
Public Health and Information Sciences Rick Clover will explain. Clover
specializes in health knowledge, cognitive sciences and health hazards
preparedness. His research focuses on immunizations and infectious
diseases.
Keith Mountain, Ph.D.
12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
"Glaciers, Ice Sheets and
Climate Change: Implications for the Global Warming Debate"
What can retreating
glaciers and ice sheets tell us about climate change and the future of
Earth? Climatologist and former State Geographer for Kentucky Keith
Mountain will explain. A specialist in glaciology and global climate
change, Mountain has been part of more than 25 international expeditions
in Antarctica, Greenland, China, Tibet, Africa and South America.
